Your safari adventure begins today! You'll start by getting picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar and taken to the airport. After a one-hour flight to Arusha in a small plane, your guide will meet you at Arusha Airport and drive you for about two hours to Tarangire National Park.
You will start your beautiful journey to Tarangire National Park for a game drive. You will experience watching a great number of elephant herds. Later you'll transfer to your lodge for dinner, relaxation, and an overnight stay.
This park is famous for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees, some of the biggest trees in Africa.
While driving through the park in a vehicle with an open roof, you'll get to see seasonal swamps, savannas, and the Tarangire River, which is teeming with wildlife, including various birds, giraffes, impalas, zebras, lions, leopards, elands, warthogs, and elephants.

After an early breakfast, you'll start your beautiful journey to Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. You'll descend the crater while watching the majestic view of the Crater and wildlife animals as well. Once you finish the game drive, you'll transfer to the Arusha Airport where your safari ends.
From your open vehicle, you'll have the opportunity to observe and photograph some of Africa's most famous animals. The crater is home to numerous predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, jackals, and hyenas, and a large population of wildebeest, zebras, antelopes, Cape buffalo, and more.

2-Day Safari from Zanzibar – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Most 2-day safaris from Zanzibar visit parks in mainland Tanzania, such as:
- Selous/Nyerere National Park (most accessible by air)
- Mikumi National Park
- Tarangire or Ngorongoro Crater (less common due to distance, but possible by air)
- Serengeti National Park
A 2-day Tanzania safari from Zanzibar usually includes travel on the first day and a return flight on the second, giving you just one precious night in the park. To make the most of your limited time, it’s best to fly both ways—ideally to an airstrip located within or very close to your chosen park. This ensures maximum time for game viewing and a more seamless safari experience.
Alternatively, if you choose to venture north, Serengeti National Park is always my top recommendation—though getting there does require a slightly longer flight. That said, other exceptional options such as Lake Manyara National Park, Tarangire National Park, and the iconic Ngorongoro Crater also offer unforgettable safari experiences, each with its own unique landscapes and wildlife highlights.
