FAQs for 3 days safari Serengeti & Ngorongoro
Yes. Three days is enough to see the main highlights and spot the Big Five, though the safari will be fast-paced. For the Great Migration or remote areas like Northern Serengeti, 5–7 days is recommended.
Bring neutral, layered clothing in khaki or olive, a warm jacket, hat, sunscreen, and binoculars (10×42). Use soft bags only and avoid blue or black clothing.
The dry season (July–October) offers the best overall wildlife viewing. The Green Season (April–May) is more affordable, with fewer vehicles and excellent photography light. For peak months (July–August), book 6–12 months in advance due to limited availability on the Ngorongoro Crater rim.
On a road safari, Day 1 game viewing usually begins in the early afternoon (from around 14:00) after a 6–7 hour drive from Arusha. Afternoon game drives focus on prime predator activity.
A group of 4–6 travelers offers the best value, as fixed costs like the vehicle, guide, and Ngorongoro Crater fees are shared efficiently.
The luggage limit is 15 kg (33 lbs) per person, including carry-on. Soft-sided duffel bags only—hard suitcases are not allowed on small aircraft.
Day 2 focuses on Serengeti big cats (lions, cheetahs, leopards), while Day 3 is fully dedicated to the Ngorongoro Crater, targeting buffalo and the rare black rhino.
Yes. Flying avoids a 4+ hour drive to Arusha. You’ll transfer to a nearby airstrip and take a 90-minute flight, allowing game viewing until around midday.
